Not just the top steak house in Dallas, Bob’s Steak & Chop House is critically acclaimed and has earned its title among the Distinguished Restaurants of North America. Its prestige is well warranted. Opened in 1993, the original Bob’s Steak & Chop House is located in Dallas and has since spread is fame and good food to San Francisco, Houston and Grapevine.

Bob’s USDA prime rib steak is its greatest treasure. The meat selection is only of the best cuts and quality. Perfect selections of wine go with the variety of steaks, but that’s not all. Don’t be fooled by the title, Bob’s also offers fresh seafood, large salads and is known for its replenishing supply of fresh baked bread.

The steak house provides a traditional ambiance with its classically attired waiters, dark wood walls and elegant booths. Although the restaurant is also known for its hefty yet taste-bud dazzling starters and seafood selection, many critics suggest ordering the obvious -- a steak. The most popular accompanying side dish is sweet carrots, but regulars most often politely decline dessert.

Just exactly what one would expect from the kind of restaurant that serves 28-ounce steaks, Money Magazine calls it a ‘diamond in the rough.’ Dallas knows steak perhaps better than any other city in the nation and Bob’s leads the pack. Dallas’ ‘royalty’ are known to frequent Bob’s; it’s not surprising to see sport stars and celebrities like Troy Aikman there.

Guests should feel free to ask for recommendations from the friendly and well-informed staff. More the type of place for organizing a business deal rather than a romantic date, Bob’s Steak & Chop House is nonetheless a true cut above the rest. Visitors should come with hungry bellies and filled wallets.
