Two junior college basketball players have now been signed and added to Texas Tech's Red Raiders basketball roster. The school announced recently that Texas Tech's basketball coach Pat Knight signed two new players to national letters of intent.

The two new additions, Darko Cohadarevic, a 6-9, 245-pound forward from Seward County Community College and Nick Okorie, a 6-1, 180-pound guard at South Plains College, will become juniors in the fall.

Cohadarevic, who is from Belgrade, Serbia, averaged 15.4 points and eight rebounds per game as a sophomore last season at Seward County. Cohadarevic follows in the footsteps of former Seward County NJCAA All-American Devonne Giles, who helped the Red Raiders reach the Sweet 16 round of the 2005 NCAA Tournament. Seward County completed the 2007-2008 season by winning the third place game at the NJCAA Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas. The Saints were 32-6 under first year head coach Bryan Zollinger and won the Jayhawk West Tournament and Region VI Tournament.

Okorie, who is from Houston, averaged 17.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists as a sophomore at South Plains last season. Nick was selected to the All-Region and All-Conference squads for the 2007-2008 season and to the 2008 NJCAA National Tournament team. And prior to that, Nick was named Honorable Mention All-Conference for the 2006-2007 season. Nick graduated from Kempner High School in 2006. He was named All-District and played in the Texas High School Coaches Association All-Star Game.

Texas Tech Red Raiders basketball games are played at the United Spirit Arena. Head coach Pat Knight looks forward to his eighth consecutive season on the Texas Tech basketball court and acquiring victories for loyal Red Raiders b-ball fans.
